About Tanya Fischer

Tanya Fischer was born in West Bend, Wisconsin and moved to New York at the age of 19 to study acting. She took classes with the late Anne Jackson at HB Studios and successfully auditioned for the Flea Theater Company, starring in Len Jenkin’s “A Christmas Story” and 

"Los Angeles” directed by Adam Rapp. Soon after, she landed her first feature film along side Bruce Willis in “The Assassination of a High School President,” followed by a recurring role on ABC’s “ Life on Mars”, a Series Regular role on CBS’s “The Defenders,” and a recurring role on the BBC America series “Copper”. In between television work, she remains active in the theater, starring in the World Premier of two Gina Gionfriddo plays: “US DRAG” at The Beckett on Theater Row, NYC and, most recently, “ Can You Forgive Her” At The Huntington Theater. She currently lives in New York.
