Born in Scotland and raised in Southern Illinois, Marina had an international upbringing and has lived in Scotland, Japan, and Holland. She attended Oberlin College on the John T. Frederick Oberlin scholarship and the Young Arts scholarship, receiving high honors for her acting thesis and a BA in English and Theater with a concentration in Shakespeare. She then attended Brown/Trinity Rep, receiving the Lotta M. Crabtree Theatrical Scholarship and her MFA in Acting.

Marina has also worked and trained with the British American Drama Academy, Shakespeare and Company, the Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Victory Gardens Theater Festival, Columbia University, the SITI Company and The Guthrie.

In her free time Marina plays violin and is currently all too enthusiastic about learning to play the guitar and harmonica. She speaks light French, has a passion for dialects, hip-hop and modern dance, and is also engaged in developing her playwriting and choreography skills. Between acting gigs she writes and acts in independent short films with the up and coming production company Smile, Sweetheart. She loves nothing more than supporting the growth of new works created by her endlessly talented community of fellow young artists.

Marina was recently nominated for Best Leading Actress in a Play for the regional theater SALT awards for her portrayal of Estella in Great Expectations. She will next be seen playing Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice at Virginia Stage.
