About Matt Ballard
Matt Ballard is a Kentucky native who has lived in New York City for twenty years. A working actor for those 20 years, Matt got his start doing voiceover and commercial work. He has appeared in countless national commercials and has several voiceover campaigns to his credit. Most recently, Matt did motion capture and voice work for a character in a much-anticipated sequel to a beloved video game (can’t reveal due to signed ND). While he can do a mean southern accent, Matt is known for his ability to create many voices.
Additionally, Matt has done a variety of film and television work. He can currently be seen in “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp” on Netflix. He will be next seen in the feature films Blue Angel, Why Him and Going In Style (opposite Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman). His other credits include roles in Role Models opposite Christopher Charles Mintz-Plasse, “Wainy Days” opposite Rashida Jones, and a role in the soon-to-be released film, Jimmy Vestvood opposite John Heard.
Also a comic writer, Matt has written and sold several scripts to Comedy Central. He also co-created and acted in the “Good News” campaign, 16 interstitial spots for MTV. Matt was also a performer in the cult hit stage show “Sound Tracks Live” that featured many SNL/UCB/State members, and which was directed by Amy Poehler and David Wain. In January a reunion performance to a sold out crowd at the San Francisco sketch fest in January was met with rave reviews.
In his spare time, Matt is an avid rock climber and runner and is married with two young sons.
