About Jeena Yi
Jeena is a graduate of Columbia University's MFA Acting program where she studied under greats like Andrei Serban, Anne Bogart, and Kristin Linklater. She was recently seen on Netflix's Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and playing Grace on the the Emmy nominated web series AKA Wyatt Cenac. Jeena has also been seen on stage playing Kate in Second Stage Uptown's production of Somebody's Daughter by Chisa Hutchinson and Tong in Qui Nguyen's Vietgone at The Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Other credits include Monica in The Rape of the Sabine Women by Grace B Matthias at The Playwrights Realm, and Grace in Lights Rise on Grace at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, she is the youngest of three and the only daughter of immigrant parents. Growing up she and her brothers would spend summers making movies with her dad's camcorder and systematically breaking all of their mother's china by playing hockey and X-Men in the house. (Sorry mom) In an effort to keep them from breaking things, Jeena's father took her to the movies and the library every week. Instilling a love and pure joy of storytelling that she is forever grateful for.
