About Cara Washington

Cara is a recent graduate of Yale University where she received a BA in Film Studies. At Yale, Cara participated in student theater as an actor, producer, and designer. Cara is also a passionate screen and television writer. During her senior year at Yale she completed a feature length screenplay which was just announced as a semi-finalist in the Atlanta Film Festival Screenwriting Competition. Cara trained in Sketch Comedy writing at the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York.

Theater credits include the workshop and world premiere of Phillip Howze's The Children at the Yale School of Drama as well as Yale productions of In The Heights, The Christians, Opera x Metamorphoses and Stone Fish. Film credits include Breakfast (short) and Two Kinds of People (short).

Cara loves singing and music. She was a part of a women's a cappella group at Yale and has played multiple string instruments since she was a child. Cara grew up in Central New Jersey and is currently based in Brooklyn, NY.
